With its global and committed approach, Asteria Investment Managers ("Asteria") aims to contribute to the transition towards a more sustainable and equitable world by investing in companies with a positive impact and strong return potential.
Optimizing investment to support a sustainable future is Asteria IM's primary ambition. Founded in 2019 by a private bank, the Swiss company is a reference in impact investing. Acquired in 2023 by financial groups Man Group and Fideuram – Intesa Sanpaolo Private Banking, it expands its offerings while remaining true to its mission: the pursuit of long-term profitability and positive impact.
Asteria IM differentiates itself from its competitors with a unique approach: selecting companies that contribute to a positive impact, whether environmental or social, using a systematic approach. These companies are chosen based on a rigorous analysis focused on their contribution to four major themes inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals: clean energy, clean water, decarbonization, and pollution reduction.
A rigorous investment process
One of Asteria IM's strengths lies in its systematic investment process. By analyzing the revenues of companies within their investment universe, Asteria IM team determines which are engaged in economic activities providing solutions to the main challenges of sustainable development. Companies that contribute to problems are excluded from the portfolio.
This process provides full transparency on portfolios "so that investors can know exactly what their investments comprise. This transparency is essential to prevent greenwashing and ensure the integrity of Asteria IM's commitments," explains Natacha Guerdat, Head of Research.
Asteria IM's dual objective is clear: seeking long-term profitability while generating a positive impact. Thus, only companies that meet these two objectives are selected. The approach is also strict on liquidity and company size criteria but remains flexible on their age, allowing for the inclusion of innovative and emerging companies.
Investment solutions for a sustainable economy
From 2023, Asteria IM expands its range of investment products while strengthening its commitment to sustainability. The company now focuses on finding solutions to support the transition to an economy aligned with the Paris Agreement on climate change. Natacha Guerdat specifies: "We are actively working to identify companies with a genuine transition strategy, those that will be tomorrow's leaders in a zero-carbon economy."
Asteria IM thus positions itself as a key player in the field of responsible investment, combining rigor, transparency, and positive impact, with the objective of contributing to shaping a more sustainable future.
